MENLO - The Lady Vikings upset Naselle 22-21 there Tuesday in one of the lowest-scoring girls' basketball games in recent memory. The contest was a Pacific 2B affair and leaves both Valley and the Comets knotted at 1-1 in league play.
Naselle had a 21-13 lead after three periods, thanks to the seven points of Taylor Wasmundt and led by as much as 19-8 in the second half, however they did not score a point in the final period and Valley made nine to come away with the victory. Maggie Stamper for the Lady Vikes hit a baseline jump shot with 1:21 on the new scoreboard at Tenoski Gymnasium to put her team up for the only time in the fray.
